Which God Songs Are Best

Is it possible that contemporary Christian music can be as good as traditional hymns when it comes to worship? I’m pretty sure that it can. I know that I love singing “Shout to the Lord” just as much as “Amazing Grace” accompanied by a church full of believers. This is a golden opportunity to create more unity between Christians.

The first question some may ask, does modern Christian music have a place in worship? This music is a staple at most of the modern mega chuches. It is unfortunate though that more traditional churches do not generally feature the newer God songs. So are these newer Christian songs suitable for worship? Hymns are meant to be songs of praise and worship.

In my opinion these newer more current God songs such as “Shout to the Lord” are undeniably songs of praise and worship to god. I believe the problem is one of human nature. People naturally resist things that are new.

As with most problems there is more than one side. The old standard hymns are far from standard at todays mega churches. I think this is a move aimed at the younger crowd. Fearing that the youth may shy away from a more traditional service older God songs are often omitted. It is great to bring the youth to god. Isn’t it possible to make both the young and old happy? I’ve got a feeling that adding some traditional God songs will not chase the younger crowd away.

The opinions I have presented are merely that opinions from an average layperson. I am afraid that there is a barrier being created between Christians that unfortunately eliminates interactions. Interactions that are mutually beneficial, and also benefit the church as a whole. Christians should unite through their love of God and these God songs new or old. Find the right combination of modern and traditional Christian songs, this will create a wonderful worship experience for all.

I feel the perfect mix of new and old God songs provides the ideal worship experience. If your favorite church tends to go one way or the other why not make a suggestion to your pastor? Bringing the new and old together in a manner that glorifies Gods name is a winning situation for everyone.

I think it boils down to a generational gap. Historically there has always been resistance to the next generation of music, be it God songs or pop song for that matter. Which type of Christian music do you prefer? Who’s to say that you can’t like both? You may be missing out if you refuse to give the newer Christian music a chance. It may be beneficial to you to listen to some of these new Christian songs. There are some very talented artists involved in Christian music these days.
