The fascinating Greek mythology is populated by so many interesting "Gods". These Greek Gods and Goddesses are held in veneration that women who want to please them wear jewelry patterned after them. That's why there's widespread use of exquisite jewelry boxes for women as well.

Greek artisans and jewelers were extremely skilled in their work. They designed jewelry in various motifs like animals, shells, insects, and silhouettes of people. They also made mythological figures and jewelry depicting heroic scenes.

Exquisite Greek jewelry boxes for women are polished with enamel and filigree work in both silver and gold. Only the Emperors of Greece could own these boxes. The commoners used enamel boxes with carved designs on them. Tin alloy or zinc alloy was also used in making jewelry boxes during those times.

Some jewelry boxes are set with precious stones and inlay works and carvings of Gods and Goddesses on them. One of the most famous carvings would be the one of Cupid, the God of love and romance.
