Listening To God

"God is still speaking, but are we listening?"

Just think of that question. Don't you think that is true? It's actually true! God is actually talking to us. However, do we listen to Him? Can we recognize his voice?

I had that from the title of the article I have read. Moreover, I got interested by it since I believe every person should ask this to himself or herself. Let us open our minds and our hearts that God do exist. He could be just there watching over us. He could be the one that will guide our life if we only believe and trust in Him.

The content of the article was really about Rev. John Coleman experience since he moved to New York. He had lots of experiences there. But, I was thinking this is common to every one of us; since we live in a really busy world today. It's such a noisy environment that you might become irritable sometimes and also you probably have a stressful life.

Rev. john coleman said, "The noise that seems jumbled and senseless sometimes begins to develop meaning and order after a period of listening. We begin to pick out the sound that is important and filter out the rest, but it takes time."

Due to what he experienced with the city, he had the opportunity of hearing God's voice. You will recognize that in order to know where the sound or voice has come from, you must be aware and familiar about this. We experience sometimes that many of us became familiar with the noise we hear everywhere, even voices of the people from the outside our house as well as their footsteps. As long as you know yourself where that voice is coming, you'll get familiar with the environment. It may take us quite a long time to find out all of the voice we hear, but as time goes by we would be familiar with it. This could even be meaningful to you, as what John Coleman is trying to say.

This scenario is the same as what Samuel had experience in hearing God's voice. He heard a voice and at first he believed that was Eli talking to him, but later on he realized it had been God talking. He then continued listening.

The idea hear is that, I simply wished to share to you regarding the experience on hearing God's voice. We live in this busy world, thus we believe that God isn't here because we could not hear Him. However, every one of us had chance in hearing God's voice. We simply need to put our trust to God. I believe hearing is a lot more different from listening. For someone to hear the voice of God, he or she must focus his or her attention in hearing Him. God is definitely talking to us every day in our lives. It only depends upon us about how we want to experience hearing God's voice.
