Be sure to stay in touch with your professors. Even if you are hundreds of miles apart, communication when you are dealing with people is often the key to success. Ask your professors for feedback on your assignments and papers; they’ll appreciate your willingness to be involved and your ability to use constructive criticism to your advantage. If it’s at all possible, see about scheduling a face to face meeting once a semester as you work toward your degree.
Getting together with classmates outside of the classroom setting may be one of the best things about going to college. Have activities that people can participate in to break the ice and get conversations going.
