Work And Play In Japan As A Ski Instructor

Are you fascinated with everything Japanese? Perhaps you would like to go on a vacation to Japan but find that your finances are very limited. Don't worry because there are certain jobs there that you can apply for and can be the source of your travel and accommodation expenses while you are in Japan. And one of these is being a ski instructor. There are many ski resorts there that are looking for qualified instructors.

Gifu, Nagano, Hokkai, Gunma, and Niigata. These are the top places and ski resort destinations for anyone who is looking for ski instruction position. You can search for the contact details of the various ski resorts there and inquire for any job openings.

You must also understand that sometimes you cannot rely on receiving your full salary because of certain occurrences like you have no students to teach or that the weather is too bad that outside instruction may not be possible. This is just one reality of the ski instructor jobs in Japan. That is why you should not rely too much on your salary as an instructor to pay for all of your needs while you are there. This maybe one of the reasons why the ski resorts management would prefer a foreign employee who are really just interested in exploring the Japanese culture.

The salary that you can expect to get falls between 110,000 to 150,000 yen. Of course there will be a lot of determining factors like your work experience and skill level, but rest assured you will be getting a good amount of salary to live comfortably in Japan. One other thing that you should know is that foreigners are not usually covered by the 'Rousai' work insurance. So if you want the peace of mind having an insurance while you are working there, you should arrange to get your own.

You must also know that should you be hired, your meals and accommodations will not be covered by the ski resort where you will be working. You will have to provide these for yourself. You might have read or heard that previous to 2008 these were provided by the employers. However, the hospitality industry in Japan has become too fierce and crowded that resorts had to cut their expenses, and the meals and accommodations of their workers are one of those that were removed. On the other hand, you can always find affordable accommodations in the vicinity of the ski resort while you are working there.

Another question you might have is if it is a requirement for you to have any ski instructor certification before you can even be seriously considered for the job? The answer is no although it would make sense to you that you would have a certain level of advantage to your fellow applicants if you do. If your ski level is average, you will probably be assigned to the new students who are just getting started on skiing.

Also, while you are not required to be able to converse smoothly in Japanese, it would be your chance to practice your knowledge of the language by conversing directly with your students and also your colleagues. Work agencies, on the other hand, can help you go through a basic Japanese language course just to make you feel comfortable enough to talk using that language while being a ski instructor. These will help you find the best Japan jobs for foreigners easily and safely.
